Website Maintenance, Made Simple
Start Here: How to Edit Your Wix Site
To edit your Wix website, log in to your Wix account and open your site in the Wix Editor. Click directly on any text, image, or button you want to update and make your changes inline.
Your updates are not visible to the public until you click Publish. You can safely make changes without affecting your live site until you publish.
If you’re new to Wix, start by editing small sections (like text) to build confidence before making layout changes.
How to Publish Changes
After making updates in the Wix Editor, click Save to store your work, then click Publish to push changes live.
If changes are not showing on your live site, it usually means the site was saved but not published. Publishing is required every time you want updates to appear publicly.
How to Update Text + Images
In the Wix Editor, click the text or image you want to change.
For text: click Edit Text and type directly.
For images: click Change Image to upload a new file or select one from your media library.
After updating, remember to Save → Publish.
How to Update Buttons + Links
Click the button you want to update, then select Change Text & Icon to edit the label or Link to update where it sends visitors.
Buttons can link to pages, sections, files, email addresses, or external websites. Always test your button links after publishing.
How to Add / Edit Blog Posts
From your Wix dashboard, go to Blog → Create New Post. Add your title, content, and images, then choose Publish or Schedule to post later.
To edit an existing blog post, open it from the Blog dashboard, make your changes, and republish.
How to Add a New Page
In the Wix Editor, open the Pages & Menu panel and click + Add Page. Name your page, then design it like any other page.
New pages can be added to your menu or hidden until you’re ready to publish.
SEO Titles & Meta Descriptions (Plain English)
SEO titles and meta descriptions help search engines understand your page and influence how it appears in search results.
In the Wix Editor, go to Pages → SEO Basics for each page.
SEO Title: A clear, keyword-based title (50–60 characters)
Meta Description: A short summary encouraging clicks (140–160 characters)
Every important page and blog post should have its own SEO title and description.
How to Connect a Domain (with checklist)
To connect a domain, go to Wix Dashboard → Domains and follow the connection steps.
You may need to:
Confirm where your domain was purchased (GoDaddy, Google Domains, etc.)
Update DNS records with your domain provider
Wait up to 48 hours for changes to propagate
If you’re unsure, pause before making changes and contact support.
Changes not showing live: Site was saved but not published
Mobile layout looks off: Use the Mobile Editor to adjust spacing or visibility
Broken links: Recheck button and menu links
Domain not connecting: DNS records may be incorrect or still propagating
When in doubt, don’t guess — reach out for help.
